Not for the timid! This unique ride takes us through several of Costa Rica's many ecosystems temperate forest to tropical beach. We drive to the coffee producing region of Tarrazu and ride downhill to Quepos...just in time to watch sunset in Manuel Antonio. This is a unique ride!!
Starting in Los Santos region, home to the best coffee in the world (if we may say so!), ride through plantations, temperate primary forest and then tropical forest all the way to the beach. While there is the occasional hill to climb, the net elevation loss is more than 9000 feet...all in less than 80 kilometers.
This ride features some pavement but is mostly gravel roads. Although it is non-technical terrain, the duration of the trip makes it more suitable to cyclists used to spending longer periods of time on the saddle.
As an alternative to driving back to San Jose, lodging can be arranged in Manuel Antonio or Quepos in order to take advantage of the beach and nearby rafting, hiking and watersports the following day.
Ask us about the optional whitewater rafting safari!!
Duration: 7 a.m./6 p.m. 2 PAX MIN. Cost: $100
